On July 17th, Impulse will be hosting the 2017 SoCal Classic-Open Class Championship in Bellflower CA. This show brings together open class corps to determine the west coast champion. The SoCal Classic is the only Southern California show to feature a full corps retreat.

Each corps will present a teaser of their 2017 show. This is a great opportunity for you get a start on the 2017 season. You can support Impulse by purchasing your tickets online. Information for both the Mini Camp (home camp), and Memorial Day Weekend Camp has been posted on the Camp Info page. These two camps will be when most of the show will be taught. Make sure you have cleared your schedule to be with Impulse the entire time.
Impulse has secured a new rehearsal site for the 2017 season. The location is Excelsior High School in Norwalk. We will have multiple fields and the stadium available for our rehearsals.
Excelsior High School is located at 15711 Pioneer Blvd, Norwalk CA 90650. We will start rehearsals at this new location on March 26th. Attention parents, alumni, and anyone else who would like to be involved with Impulse off the field.
As everyone knows, a drum corps cannot operate without a financial commitment, be we also cannot operate without the support of parents and boosters. There are many jobs that need to be done while at home and on tour, so we need your help. This Sunday, we will be holding our 2nd parents meeting of the year at 9:00am in the band room. We request that all parents of current and prospective corps members attend. This meeting is also open to any alumni and others that would like to become a booster of Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps. Please come and support your kids and your corps. Along with many returning members, we have also added a lot of new talent through out the corps. The brass and percussion sections are in the early stages of learning the show and we have just begun to add the guard. Auditions for brass and percussion have been completed, however if you are looking for a spot to march this summer, we may still be able to find a spot on the field for you. Follow your Impulse, and come march with us as we prepare for our 2017 national tour. Next rehearsal is March 12th. Check back here often for more details. After a very successful open house, Impulse is looking forward to a great 2017 season.
To get started, Impulse will be holding workshops on December 11th and January 14th and 15th. Preliminary auditions will be held during the workshop on January 15th, followed by a full weekend of auditions on January 21st and 22nd. For all participants and prospective members, there is a corps registration fee of $85 required. The registration fee also allows you to participate in any one, or all, of these dates. Registration starts at 9:30 each day with workshops and auditions from 10:00am to 6:00pm Locations: December 11th - Bell Gardens High School, 6119 Agra St, Bell Gardens, CA 90201 *Lunch will be offered for $5 per day or $20 for all five days if you pre-pay Only a few more days until the 2016 drum corps debut here in Southern California!

On the evening of May 3rd, Drum Corps International approved Impulse for a national tour. “We were confident DCI would approve our return to the national stage”, said corps director Mike Lopez. “All of the preparation and rehearsal to this point have been geared toward a full tour and we are looking forward to competing in Michigan City at the open class championships.”
